Case Study

Delivering Sustainable, Premium Hydration for Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP)

Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park

Project Overview

  • Project Name: Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP) — Batch 1A Development
  • Facilities Covered: Buildings 8 & 9 (State-of-the-art Wet Laboratory-Enabled Buildings) and Building 11 (Talent Accommodation / InnoCell-style residential facilities).
  • Scale & Purpose: Designed as a world-class cross-border innovation and technology hub, integrating advanced research and development laboratories with modern residential spaces for global talent.
  • Green Building Accreditations: BEAM Plus New Buildings Provisional Platinum, LEED Gold Pre-certification, WELL Building Standard™ Precertified, and Green Building Award 2023 (Merit Award).

The Challenge

As a premier flagship development setting new benchmarks for intelligent design, sustainability, and human-centric architecture, HSITP required a hydration infrastructure that could match its exceptionally high operational standards:

  • Meeting Multi-Zone Demands: Spanning three distinct structures—including high-intensity research and wet-lab environments in Buildings 8 and 9, and residential talent accommodation in Building 11—the project required a versatile system capable of meeting diverse daily consumption needs.
  • Rigorous Health & Safety Standards: To align with strict lab hygiene protocols, occupant well-being standards, and prestigious green building certifications, the water infrastructure had to deliver uncompromising water purity and safety.
  • Seamless Multi-Building Integration: The solution needed to provide consistent, reliable access to filtered boiling and chilled water across multi-floor layouts while integrating smoothly with the park’s strict energy-efficiency and sustainability mandates.

The Solution

To fulfill the rigorous technical and environmental requirements of HSITP, Life Solutions deployed a robust, end-to-end hydration infrastructure tailored for institutional excellence:

  • Advanced Hardware Deployment: Installed a total of 44 units of Billi Premium Drinking Taps integrated with high-performance ULA Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration systems. This combination ensured exceptional water purity suitable for both high-end research environments and modern residential living.
  • Rigorous Testing & Commissioning: Conducted comprehensive pre-commissioning checks, multi-stage water quality testing, and system calibration to guarantee absolute compliance with health standards and optimal performance prior to official handover.
  • Dedicated Ongoing After-Care: Supported by Life Solutions’ expert in-house local service technicians, the infrastructure is backed by scheduled preventative maintenance, routine filter replacements, and prompt technical support to ensure uninterrupted, seamless operation across all floors and buildings.

The Outcome

  • Aligned with World-Class Sustainability Goals: The deployment of advanced on-site filtration successfully eliminated single-use bottled water across the facilities, strongly reinforcing HSITP’s zero-waste, carbon-conscious mission and supporting its green building accreditations.
  • Uncompromised Reliability & Wellbeing: Researchers, professionals, and residents enjoy effortless, immediate access to pure, high-quality boiling and chilled water—empowering daily productivity, health, and comfort.
  • A Trusted Institutional Partnership: This landmark project highlights Life Solutions’ proven capability to execute large-scale, technically complex hydration solutions for premier innovation hubs, cementing our position as a trusted partner in sustainable hospitality and institutional infrastructure.
